Ready to dine
In the historic circulade village of Caux, down a small street, just round the corner from the main square, a gate opens into a walled courtyard garden. In this secluded garden is a 6mx3m in ground, kidney shaped swimming pool.

Around the pool is a tiled area, barbeque and a table
for 8. An outside staircase leads to a generous sun terrace with vine shading
and sun loungers. Beneath the terrace is a shady cloister and WC. For the
safety of children, the garden and pool area can be totally shut off from
the house by childproof gates; as is the outside staircase.
Entering the house through the front door in the old
archway is the hall, the downstairs double bedroom with its own bathroom;
and the entrance to the main living area.

The large open-plan living area is the heart of the
house. With a newly fitted, modern kitchen
The lounge area is the ideal place to relax on the large sofas. .French
windows lead out to the courtyard and swimming pool. There is a TV, DVD
and CD player.
Internal stairs lead to a further 3 bedrooms. The first
is a large double bedroom, with a four poster bed and a beautiful beamed
ceiling. Leading off is a large, sunny, en-suite bathroom. French windows
open onto a large sun terrace, shaded in parts by vines – ideal for
sunbathing or breakfast.
The other 2 bedrooms each have 2 single beds, and both have their own shower
room and toilet. All bedrooms have windows overlooking the courtyard.
Bed linen and bathroom towels are included (please bring your own beach
towels). There is a small library plus a selection of board games and DVDs.
We are very fortunate to be in the close proximity of the 17C historic town
of Pezenas. Not only does it have a wonderful market, cafes, bars, many
restaurants and shops as well as two large supermarkets; but also dozens
of interesting workshops of craftsmen and artists, streets of antique shops.
In Caux, made famous by Jonathan Miller, the house is situated close to
the centre of the village, and a 3 minute walk will get you to 2 butchers,
2 bakers, a mini-supermarket, tobacconists/sweetshops, a pharmacy, 2 bars
and a hair salon. There is also a local market in the village square on
Friday morning – selling fruit, vegetables, fresh and cooked meats,
oysters and fresh fish, cheeses, flowers and an assortment of clothing and
other necessities. Caux has many vineyards where you can taste and buy the
very good local wines.
